An international scientific workshop titled “Preserving the Past — Shaping the Future” was held in Samarkand as part of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.

The workshop, hosted by Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction, brought together distinguished experts, including representatives of the “Silk Road"  International Research Institute. The Institute’s Director, Professor M. A. Yusupova, and senior researchers M. A. Naberaeva, F. I. Khudaykulova, and N. Kalandarova delivered insightful presentations on modern approaches to restoring and preserving architectural monuments, highlighting the fusion of tradition and innovation in cultural heritage conservation.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the organizers of the workshop, and especially to the Rector of the University, Professor Çiğdem Hanım Türkyilmaz, for the kind invitation and the exceptionally high scientific standard at which the event was held.
