The International Seminar Has Successfully Concluded!

The international scientific and practical seminar on “Current Issues in the Recreating of Traditional Architectural Ceramics in Uzbekistan” has concluded in Samarkand, bringing together experts to address critical challenges in the preservation of cultural heritage.

The seminar featured leading scholars from Turkey, China and Iran, as well as masters-ceramists and restorers from Tashkent, Bukhara, Gijduvan, Samarkand and the Khorezm districts of Khonka and Yangiarik. Participants presented advanced scientific research, demonstrated successful restoration projects, and engaged in discussions on both traditional and contemporary techniques for the conservation and reconstruction of glazed architectural ceramics, a unique component of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage.

The seminar’s outcomes include the development of practical recommendations aimed at preserving the authenticity and durability of architectural ceramics. A comprehensive collection of the seminar materials and conclusions is scheduled for publication in early 2025.

We express our deepest gratitude to all participants for their scholarly contributions and commitment to advancing restoration practices.
