Visit of University of Technology Malaysia Delegation to the Silk Road International Research Institute under the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.

On September 18, 2025, the Silk Road International Research Institute under the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage welcomed a delegation of leading researchers from University of Technology Malaysia. The official visit was organized with the aim of fostering effective cooperation between the scientific institutions of Uzbekistan and Malaysia.

During the meeting, the parties held in-depth discussions on the preservation of Uzbekistan’s historical monuments, their study through modern technologies, as well as issues of restoration and conservation. Particular attention was given to the prospects of developing pilgrimage tourism based on Uzbekistan’s memorial and religious complexes — the sacred sites known as ziyoratgohs.

Both sides identified strategic directions for future collaboration, including scientific cooperation, exchange of expertise, and the implementation of joint research projects between the Silk Road International Research Institute and University of Technology Malaysia.

This partnership will serve as a strong foundation not only for strengthening academic ties but also for fostering cultural and tourism development between the two countries. Furthermore, it will contribute to promoting Uzbekistan’s rich historical heritage on the global stage.
