Expanding International Scientific and Practical Cooperation

Within the framework of the “Decade of Architectural Heritage”, organized by the “Silk Road” International Research Institute under the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, a 10-day “Summer International Architectural Academy” was held.

An international team consisting of researchers from the “Silk Road” Institute, PhD candidates and students of the Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) in Nilai, Malaysia, led by Dr. Nur Hayati Ismail, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, as well as students of the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent under the supervision of Prof. S. Usmonov, carried out research in Samarkand.

During the program, scholars and students studied and measured the Nadir Divan-Begi Madrasa in the Khoja Ahrar Vali complex using both traditional methods and modern innovative technical tools.

This scientific and practical activity has been recognized as a new international project. Its results are expected to be presented in Malaysia, and later in Uzbekistan, in the form of a book, a major exhibition, and presentations.

This visit became an important step towards strengthening scientific, practical, and cultural cooperation between Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
