Signing of Memorandums of Cooperation with the “Hunarmand” Association of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Beijing City University

On April 8–9, 2025, within the framework of the II International Scientific and Practical Seminar “Prospects of Reviving the Endangered Carpet Weaving Traditions of Uzbekistan” two important memorandums of cooperation were signed by the “Silk Road” International Research Institute under the “Silk Road” University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage with partners from Uzbekistan and China.

The first memorandum of cooperation was signed with the “Hunarmand” Association of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This partnership is aimed at the development and support of crafts, the preservation and revival of disappearing types of traditional crafts of Uzbekistan, as well as the organization of joint cultural and educational events.

The second memorandum was signed with Beijing City University (China). Cooperation with Chinese colleagues will focus on the development of technologies in the field of restoration and preservation of cultural heritage sites, which will allow for the introduction of innovations in the work with historical sites and museum artifacts.

The signing of these memorandums opens new horizons for scientific and cultural exchange between Uzbekistan and international partners. In particular, it will contribute to the preservation of carpet weaving traditions and the development of technologies for restoring antique carpet samples.
